ORAL HYGIENE FAQ’s:

When is the best time to brush and floss?
There is no best time. Whenever you feel you can focus and do a thorough job is the best time. After meals is very helpful.

Which should I do first?
Brush, then floss, then rubber tip. If you use a proxabrush use it just before flossing. Rinse before and after if you like. The order is not critical. If you take your time and concentrate on what you are doing then it should not matter what order you implement.

Which is better, waxed or unwaxed floss?
Don’t worry about that. Just floss! We recommed Glide floss to our patients.

What about waterpiks?
Waterpiks are great as an extra measure. They are no substitute for dental floss! For patients with extensive brdgework they can be helpful in removing food debris. They do not remove plaque from the root surfaces effectively.
