GUM GRAFTING FOR RECESSION:

When the gumline recedes and exposes root surfaces the tooth or teeth may become sensitive to cold or uncomfortable to brush. The tooth may also become a cosmetic concern. As recession is often progressive, a procedure is sometimes performed to augment the gum tissue. A gum graft is like borrowing gum tissue form one place in the mouth and transplanting it to another.

CROWN LENGTHENING:

Crown lengthening is required when your tooth requires a new crown or other restoration and the margin or edge of that restoration is below the gum tissue and not accessible for restoration by your dentist.
